From News Center (Text by Zuo Yingzi from the International Exchange Department (School of International Education); Photo by Chen Yue, Zheng Kaixin, and Zeng Rongshuo from Convergence Media Center) To help international students better understand traditional Chinese festivals, experience the beauty of Chinese folk culture, and promote cultural exchange and sharing, LZPU held a Mid-Autumn Festival celebration for international students at Ingenuity Academy on September 13. Vice President Ju Hongxia attended the event, along with staff from the Liuzhou Foreign Affairs Office of Guangxi and Guantang Police Station of the Liuzhou Public Security Bureau and faculty representatives. Over 70 international students gathered to enjoy this beautiful holiday together.

Ju Hongxia extended greetings and blessings to the international students, hoping they would feel the warmth of home during their studies and life at Liuzhou Polytechnic University. With the arrival of the Mid-Autumn Festival, she encouraged the students to further understand and integrate into Chinese culture. She also urged them to study hard, apply what they have learned, and become versatile professionals with a global perspective and serve as ambassadors for cultural exchange between China and other countries.

The event venue was brimming with the Mid-Autumn Festival spirit. Under the bright moon and twinkling lights, laughter and chatter filled the air. Students and teachers worked together to make mooncakes. This gave international students a hands-on experience with traditional Chinese cuisine while fostering connections. The mooncake-making session was lively, with everyone learning through practice. Smiles lit up faces as they savored the delicious mooncakes they had made with their own hands.

The celebration also featured a variety of cultural activities. In a "likes" campaign, international students actively shared videos and photos of the event on social media, spreading the joy of celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival with both Chinese and international friends. A cultural quiz with prizes helped students deepen their understanding of Chinese culture, while the "Mid-Autumn Shake to Win" activity allowed them to experience the fun and excitement of the festivities. Additionally, international students recited classical Chinese poetry in different languages, including Prelude to Water Melody, expressing their good wishes for the Mid-Autumn Festival.

This Mid-Autumn Festival celebration not only brought teachers and students closer together but also gave international students a deeper understanding and appreciation of Chinese culture. A warm and beautiful night was shared by all, and in this shared moment of reunion and joy, everyone felt the care and warmth of the LZPU family.

LZPU will welcome 128 international students in 2024. This diverse group consists of 23 ASEAN Scholarship recipients, 14 participants from Indonesia's "1+1+1" program, and 37 students enrolled in a tailored class for Thai students developed in collaboration with Shennan Circuits Co., Ltd. (SCC), along with 9 students from the LiuGong-LZPU International Craftsman College of Thailand. Additionally, LZPU will host 25 students focused on language studies. Additionally, 20 students from the second batch of the Liugong-LZPU International Craftsman College of Indonesia are scheduled to enter China in October.
